VicPD investigators are looking to speak with witnesses or victims after a man was seen waving a sword and knife in a threatening manner in downtown Victoria on Saturday, Oct. 26.
Just after 4 p.m., patrol officers received a report of a man swinging a sword and a knife toward a crowded area in the downtown core.
Responding officers found the suspect walking near the 800-block of Yates Street and eventually had to use a taser to subdue the armed man. He was taken to hospital, treated for minor injuries and released back into custody.
Robert Allen Dick faces five charges including two charges of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, and breach of release order. Dick remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
