Public engagement for the Tillicum Burnside Plan is entering a new phase this month as Saanich gathers feedback for this long-term planning initiative aimed at shaping the neighbourhood.

After hosting a series of walking tours and pop-up events in May, the district will host webinars and community workshops in June to discuss key themes for the plan, including transportation, land use and public spaces.

The Tillicum Burnside Plan is intended to guide future growth and improvements in the area over the short, medium and long term. The project explores the introduction of more housing options, better amenities, safer connections and street designs that support sustainable transportation.

Community workshops are scheduled during the month, each focused on a specific topic.

The transportation and mobility session will take place June 14 from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. A second workshop on land use is scheduled for June 22 at the same time, and a third workshop focused on village areas, public spaces and the public realm will be held June 24 from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

All workshops will be held at Tillicum Centre in a storefront near the Winners entrance.

Child-minding and refreshments will be provided at each session.

A second round of public engagement is scheduled for the fall, with a finalized plan set to go before council in the spring of 2026.
