The City of Victoria will hold several public input sessions over the coming months to inform its Community Safety and Wellbeing plan.
That strategy will identify actions the city and various partners can take to make the Victoria community safer and more inclusive for all.
The community safety initiative was spurred by Mayor Marianne Alto, who convened an 11-member panel of community leaders to guide its development.
Members of the public are invited to a series of open houses and pop-up events to learn more about the plan and share their concerns, experiences and suggestions.
The sessions are being held at the Fernwood Community Centre on June 25 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.; at the Moss Street Farmers Market on June 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; at the Victoria West Community Centre on July 8 from 5:50 to 7:30 p.m., at the Victoria Public Market on July 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and at The Atrium on July 11 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
The city says the input gathered will help inform the Community Safety and Wellbeing plan's recommended actions, which will be go in front of council in September.
