While higher temperatures called for sunscreen and shade earlier this week, the next few days may necessitate umbrellas and light sweaters.
According to Environment Canada, temperatures are expected to drop to 17 C in Greater Victoria Friday, including in Victoria, Saanich, Oak Bay, Sidney and Langford.
Rain is also expected across the region Aug. 15, with a 30 per cent chance of showers Saturday.
Temperatures after Friday are expected to stay below 21 C until they rise again next week, with 22 C, 23 C and 24 C heat expected Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.
In Sooke, rain is expected from Friday to Tuesday, with a 30 per cent chance of showers Sunday and a 60 per cent chance Monday and Tuesday.
Temperatures will hit 15 C Friday, then stay between 16 C and 17 C from Saturday to Tuesday, while 19 C and 21 C highs are expected Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.
This news comes after Greater Victoria saw a 29 C scorcher Aug. 11, while Environment Canada issued heat warnings in the Island Health region for Aug. 10 to 12. Areas impacted included eastern Vancouver Island from Duncan to Campbell River and a large portion of inland Vancouver Island.
