RCMP investigating after View Royal trees hacked without permit

The incident has caused 'thousands of dollars worth of damage'

West Shore RCMP is investigating a report of mischief after two trees in View Royal were cut and trimmed without proper permits.

The incident is believed to have taken place sometime between the last week of June and first week of July, resulting in "thousands of dollars worth of damage" to the trees, located in front of 270 Island Hwy.

According to the RCMP, because of the damage, the trees are not expected to recover and will likely need to be removed and replaced.

Police have not yet identified any suspects and are appealing for witnesses to come forward and speak to investigators.
