Saanich police seek purple-haired person over $500 grocery theft

Saanich police is looking to identify a suspect after someone walked out of a grocery store with about $500 worth of unpaid merchandise.

The Saanich Police Department is seeking the public’s help identifying a suspect in an alleged theft of groceries valuing over $500.00.

While two women entered a grocery store in Royal Oak on April 19, police say one walked out with $500 worth of groceries she hadn’t paid for.

When approached by security, the suspect threatened the security guard before entering a Blue Bird Cab and left the area, according to a Crime Stoppers social media post.

The suspect is a Caucasian woman, 5’ with a slim build, purple hair, purple sweatshirt, dark purple leggings, olive green backpack and sunglasses.

The second person had a similar appearance with purple hair, a purple sweatshirt and was wearing glasses.
