Saanich seeks public’s input for pickleball and tennis planning

eee
Demand for pickleball facilities continues to grow.

As demand for pickleball facilities continues to grow, the District of Saanich is offering the public a chance to provide input on Saanich’s short and long-term plans for pickleball and tennis in the municipality’s parks.

This follows the release of an independent regional Pickleball Strategy for Victoria, Saanich, Oak Bay and Esquimalt earlier this year, which provides suggestions on managing this growth. It recommends various strategies and improvements to better manage play times, reservation and drop-in processes, setback distances and more – all in the name of enhancing the player experience and minimizing noise impacts for neighbours.

In response, Saanich has refined the suggestions to match its understanding of the community’s needs. Community members are now invited to provide feedback through a questionnaire on HelloSaanich.

Citizens’ input is important as the information will inform park plans and future requests to the council for funding. To learn more, visit HelloSaanich to take part in the pickleball and tennis questionnaire.
