Saanich will launch a major water main replacement project on Burnside Road East, between Harriet and Dupplin Roads, in early January. The work is expected to take approximately four months.

Westbound traffic will be closed along the affected stretch for the duration of the project, with drivers advised to seek alternate routes. Eastbound traffic will be reduced to a single lane, and parking will be prohibited in the construction zone. Cyclists must adhere to traffic control measures, and all surface features will be restored to their original condition after the project is complete.

Bus routes 21 and 22 will be temporarily rerouted, with a relocated stop on Whittier Avenue. Commuters are encouraged to check BC Transit’s Victoria webpage for updates.

Access to businesses and residences will be maintained, although brief disruptions may occur. Residents on the northeast side of Burnside Road East will be provided with driveway access slips for eastbound entry.
