Snow is causing havoc for drivers in Langford and Colwood, on Monday afternoon.
Environment Canada and the province issued a warning to drivers and residents earlier in the day on March 4, that potential snow and ice could occur overnight.
The province also warned of potential freezing rain over the Malahat and along eastern Vancouver Island.
Motorists along Highway 1 at Tillicum Road, the Helmcken overpass and Millstream Road, are reporting snowy conditions making for hazardous driving.
Meanwhile, in Saanich, there are reports of hail and a vehicle collision in the Saanich core, which has knocked out power to more than 2,000 BC Hydro customers.
Power is out for those east of Loretta Drive, to north of Kelvin Road, south of Woodhall Drive to west of Cumberland Road. BC Hydro has a crew on the way to the scene with an estimated arrival of 7 p.m.
