Reports on Facebook say a tree has fallen on Highway 14 close to Fishboat Bay Road east of Sooke while Vancouver Island braces for a storm surge as a bomb cyclone forms off the coast of B.C.
According to a post on the Sooke Traffic Facebook group, BC Hydro is on the way to the scene, but the highway is closed in both directions until further notice.
Additionally, BC Hydro is currently investigating a power outage in East Sooke, which is currently affecting 1,673 hydro customers.
