A 33-year-old man from the Capital District area has been arrested on 15 counts of indecent acts and one count of indecent exposure, according to the West Shore RCMP.

The arrest was made on Nov. 8. on the Langford area of the Galloping Goose trail, with the bike patrol unit being the spearhead.

The RCMP had begun receiving complaints about an unknown man exposing himself in June.

The bike unit worked with serious crime and front-line officers, with the investigation taking months to complete.

“Our trail systems are a special part of the West Shore communities and our citizens deserve to be safe while using them,” said Inspector Stephen Rose, Officer in Charge of Operations at West Shore RCMP.

Over several months, officers from the units used various investigative techniques, including covert surveillance and interviews with victims and witnesses.

The suspect had exposed himself several times, but none of the victims were physically assaulted, according to the RCMP.

The suspect has no criminal record and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 8. 2024.

The West Shore RCMP said that it believes more victims have not filed police reports and encourages them to do so.
