The left-hand turn exit onto Keating Cross Road (Exit 18) is currently closed due to downed utility lines on Keating Cross Road, just west of Highway 17.

At a little after 4 p.m. on Friday (April 4), DriveBC issued the traffic advisory for drivers heading northbound on Pat Bay Highway (Highway 17).

Drivers who typically use Exit 18 are advised to use Island View Road as an alternative.

BC Hydro crews are on-site working to repair the damage; the duration of the closure is currently unknown. DriveBC will be providing updates as more information becomes available.

The exit will reopen once repairs are completed.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Transportation and Transit says traffic pattern changes are in effect on Highway 17 near Keating Cross Road due to ongoing overpass construction this spring, including some nighttime lane closures.

Detailed updates on road closures and the construction schedule can be found at gov.bc.ca/keatingoverpass
