A pick-up truck collided with an apartment complex at 697 Holyoake Road in Langford on March 3 after the driver suffered a medical emergency.
The driver was taken to the hospital while emergency crews inspected the building and deemed it safe. The truck was later removed from the apartment complex off Millstream Road.
A YouTube video shows that the vehicle had come off the road, hit a tree outside Liquor Planet, and collided with the five-storey building at about 11 a.m.
The building had been looked at by a structural engineer and no one had been evacuated from the building, said Chris Aubrey Langford Fire Chief.
“The property owner brought in a structural engineer who confirmed there was no structural damage to the building.”
Security of the footage shows bystanders were quick to jump into action, and one man had attempted to get to the driver but could not do so due to the door becoming stuck.
“If someone is not feeling well, obviously, pull over right away,” said Aubrey.
The damage has since been walled off, and plywood has been installed where the incident occurred.
