Nearly 3,000 residents started the day without power Friday (Nov. 17).

Overlapping power outages from Blanshard Street to Richmond Road and Hillside Avenue to Gladstone Avenue saw residents in darkness just before 4 a.m. It also left several major intersections without lights or flashing reds.

By 10 a.m. all areas were restored, according to BC Hydro. While some remain under investigation, equipment failure is attributed to at least one area of the early morning outages.
