The Victoria Police Department is looking to speak with victims who were allegedly threatened by a man carrying bear spray on Saturday morning in the 1500-block of Fort Street.

Sometime after 6 a.m. on Sept. 21, the department says officers responded to a report of a man allegedly carrying bear spray approaching motorists and threatening to stab and spray them.

"With the assistance of nearby witnesses, officers located the suspect who fled on foot. The suspect assaulted and threatened two officers while being taken into custody," noted a news release from VicPD.

VicPD say the suspect was arrested and held in custody for a court appearance, but further information cannot be shared as the file is now before the courts.

Officers are looking to speak with the driver of a" silver vehicle, possibly a woman," who was also allegedly threatened by the suspect but left the area before police arrived. Anyone who has information about the incident or any additional victims is asked to call the E-Comm report desk at 250-995-7654 and provide file number 2024-34582.
