The City of Victoria recently released an online survey to gauge what climate action initiatives residents want it to prioritize.

"Victoria is experiencing the impacts of climate change, from dangerous summer heat to more frequent and severe storms year-round," said Victoria in the survey's description. "To protect the community we love, we need to come together and act now to reduce carbon pollution."

Responses will help shape changes to Victoria's climate leadership plan, which outlines high-impact initiatives to curb carbon emissions, and its climate adaptation plan, which helps keep the city safe against climate change impacts.

“While climate change is a global problem, we all have a role in protecting the people and places we love by reducing our carbon pollution and getting ready for climate-caused impacts,” said Victoria's mayor Marianne Alto in a news release. “Climate change affects everyone in Victoria, the way we live together, our environment and economy, and I encourage the community to share their experiences and feedback with us.”

The survey is open until Friday, Oct. 11. To take it, visit: engage.victoria.ca/climateaction.
