More than 400 participants from Canada and abroad will gather in Victoria later this month to explore ideas to address some of the world’s most urgent challenges.

The 2025 Victoria Forum will run from Aug. 24 to 26 at the University of Victoria, with a theme of “Towards a Better Future: Shifting the Trajectory.”

Discussions will focus on planetary health, protecting democracy and financing regenerative economies.

The event comes as Canada faces challenges to meet the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, with just five years left before the 2030 deadline.

Speakers include former prime minister Joe Clark, U.S. podcaster Nate Hagens and Canadian authors Vanessa Oliveira de Machado, Adam Kahane and James Stauch. Sessions will explore environmental sustainability, digital tools for democracy, and ways to shift to a low-carbon economy.

Registration is open on a pay-what-you-can basis at victoriaforum.ca, with options for in-person or limited online participation.
