Parkinson Wellness Projects, a non-profit organization helping people living with Parkinson’s disease, launched its Year-End Match campaign on Oct. 29.
Every donation made will be matched dollar for dollar to help support critical programs, including 25 weekly exercise classes (in-person and virtual), individual and family counselling, support groups and educational seminars for people living with Parkinson’s disease.
The non-profit organization says there are nearly 3,000 people on Vancouver Island currently diagnosed with Parkinson's and that number continues to grow.
Anyone living with Parkinson’s is welcome to use their facility for free. Operations are paid for through donations and grants and contributions from local businesses and foundations.
PWP is hoping to raise $120,000 this year from their Year-End Match campaign that runs until Dec. 3.
