Victoria Police (VicPD) has raised concern about the levels of violence and weapons linked to drug trafficking.

On Friday, July 12, around 11 a.m., officers were called to the 1400-block of Fairfield Road, following a report of a man chasing and threatening two people with a taser.

VicPD say that the suspect fled in a vehicle prior to their arrival, but was later located and arrested in the 500-block of Ellice Street. Two hand-held stun guns were located inside the suspect's vehicle and the man was held in custody for a court appearance.

Early on Monday morning, officer also attended an altercation in the 900-block of Pandora Avenue on Monday, July 15.

“We continue to be concerned with the level of violence and weapons associated with drug trafficking in our communities," said Chief Del Manak. "Our officers are seeing people, some who are not sheltering outdoors, using tents and other structures to traffic drugs, conceal weapons and target vulnerable people.
