Victoria police are looking for witnesses and video to potentially tie a heavily damaged vehicle to a hit-and-run incident blocks away in the Quadra-Hillside neighbourhood.

VicPD was called after a vehicle struck a parked van in the 2800-block of Graham Street before fleeing the scene on Feb.  8 around 4 a.m.

While still investigating, officers were called about a suspicious vehicle parked not far away, in the 1200-block of Topaz Avenue, the department said in a news release.

There, police found a man in the vehicle which had significant damage to the driver’s door, its right front and rear tires were shredded with damaged rims and the front bumper had been sheared off.

The vehicle was towed and the man was detained for an impaired driving investigation, VicPD said.

Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed either incident or has video footage around the time of the incident to call 250-995-7654 and reference file number 25-4664.
