The Victoria Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run from last week after the driver of a stolen vehicle hit a home and caused significant damage to the property.

On Monday, March 25, just after 5:30 a.m., VicPD officers received a report from a resident of Southgate Street that their house had been struck by the vehicle and the driver fled on foot.

“Several officers attended and an extensive search of the area was conducted, aided by the Integrated Canine Services unit; however, the suspect was not found,” noted a news release from the department on Wednesday (April 3).

After contacting the registered owner of the vehicle, investigators determined it had been stolen that same morning.

Investigators are asking the driver of the vehicle or any witnesses who saw the accident or anyone with dash-cam, CCTV or doorbell camera footage to call the E-Comm report desk at 250-995-7654 extension 1. To report anonymously, call Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
