Unlike traditional English afternoon tea, which features light sandwiches and pastries, Scottish high tea showcases a heartier meal, originally served in Scotland as an evening meal for workers.

Victoria’s Pendray Tea House (309 Belleville St.) brings its own take on the old continent’s tradition, offering a three-tiered selection of savoury dishes, warm scones, and seasonal desserts, using locally sourced ingredients.

This new evening dining experience, launched on Jan. 24, is now available Friday to Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m.

Guests can pair their meals with locally brewed beers, ciders, or signature cocktails, and a small à la carte menu is also available.
