Victoria’s Mustard Seed Food Bank distributes 480,000 meals in 2023

The Mustard Seed Street Church and Food Bank had a busy 2023.

The Mustard Seed’s food security distribution centre collected and distributed nearly two million pounds of food, beverages and hygiene products through the food bank and service agencies.

The food bank alone distributed approximately 600,000 pounds of products or a total of around 480,000 meals.

The Hope Farm Healing Centre offered farm skills training for 12 multi-barrier participants.

The fair start for kids program handed out 600 back to school kits to children and youth.

The hospitality centre shared the equivalent of 50,000 meals, as well as clothing, haircuts, foot care and case management support.

The Mustard Seed also delivered 1,200 Christmas hampers filled with toys, food and other essentials and hosted a Christmas celebration for over 400 community members.
