Esquimalt’s biggest block party is set to make a grand return, promising a day full of community spirit and entertainment.

On June 8 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Bullen Field will transform into a bustling venue filled with local community groups, live performances and a variety of family-friendly activities.

The Kids’ Activity Zone is a highlight for families, featuring a bouncy castle, lawn games like giant Jenga and cornhole, and the newly introduced Kids’ Market, where young entrepreneurs will showcase their products.

Urban Rec will set up volleyball courts, inviting families and friends to enjoy a game. The performance tent will host Theatre Al Dente, offering theatre songs and karaoke sessions, alongside performances by the local ukulele club and the band Crimson Sky, ensuring a lively atmosphere throughout the day.

The Splash Park will also be open for the season, offering a perfect way to cool off during the event. Visitors are encouraged to bring their swimsuits to take advantage of the water activities.

Bringing community together

Local community groups, including the Esquimalt Neighbourhood House, Arbutus Scouting Group, VicPD and the Esquimalt Fire Department, will be present, making it an excellent opportunity for residents to engage with these groups and learn more about their community efforts.

The Esquimalt Lions Club will run a cash-only barbecue, with all proceeds benefiting the local community. Attendees can enjoy a variety of grilled foods while supporting worthy Esquimalt-area causes.

Note that with limited parking available, attendees are encouraged to plan their travel accordingly. Biking, walking or using public transportation are recommended for a hassle-free experience.

Esquimalt’s biggest block party at Bullen Field is an event not to be missed, providing a blend of entertainment, community engagement and fun for all ages. The Esquimalt Parks and Recreation team looks forward to welcoming everyone on June 8 for a day of celebration and connection.
