Broadmead, Oak Bay and Colwood Hearing Clinics, known for their personalized and expert care in audiology, are eagerly anticipating the return of their flagship event, the 14th Annual Healthy Hearing Expo.
Scheduled for May 22, this community-focused event promises a day filled with education, technology showcases and health screenings from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Victoria Conference Centre, downtown.
“This expo is a platform for education and connection. We are thrilled to bring back the Healthy Hearing Expo in person after a couple of years of virtual adaptations due to the pandemic,” says Vivien Brown, Clinic manager and owner.
The expo, a cornerstone event for the clinic for more than a decade, features an exciting lineup of presentations, including the latest advancements in hearing aid technology, such as artificial intelligence and motion sensor capabilities that optimizes hearing in challenging noise environments and artificial intelligence capabilities that enhance sound localization and focus.
“One of our key presentations will delve into cutting-edge technology in hearing aids. It’s fascinating how far we’ve come, with AI now helping users focus on specific sounds in noisy environments,” Brown explains, noting that as independently owned clinics, they aren’t tied to any particular provider.
“This freedom lets us offer an unbiased selection of the best hearing aids available for each patient’s particular type of hearing loss.”
And at a special draw at the event, attendees could win a free set of hearing aids!
Exploring common hearing health concerns
The clinics also specialize in treating conditions like tinnitus and offer specialized testing for hearing imbalance, so the expo will also address critical topics such as tinnitus, balance and dizziness issues – common but often overlooked aspects of auditory health.
“We’re particularly excited about the new treatments available for balance issues, which will be a major focus in one of our presentations,” she added.
Throughout the day, participants will also have the opportunity to interact directly with representatives from six leading hearing aid manufacturers and undergo free hearing screenings, making this a comprehensive health event for anyone concerned about their auditory well-being.
