Get ready to bid, win, and support the arts! Pacific Opera Victoria is launching Rigoletto Revelry, its biggest ever online fundraising auction offering a unique opportunity to take home incredible items and experiences while helping the arts thrive on the Island.
From April 9 to May 1, opera lovers and arts supporters can browse and bid on a wide range of exclusive experiences, one-of-a-kind treasures, and locally crafted goods – all in support of Pacific Opera Victoria and its many community programs.
Set against the backdrop of Rigoletto, one of opera’s most dramatic masterpieces, which underscores how every choice can alter a destiny. Similarly, every bid placed through the Rigoletto Revelry auction site will have an impact on the future of opera in Victoria.
Select items will also be on display in the lobby of the Royal Theatre during the Rigoletto production, offering a closer look at some of the auction treasures.
Something for every interest and price point
The auction offers something for everyone, with a variety of items and experiences at different price points. From Canadian-made goods and artwork by local artists to travel packages, luxury experiences, and family-friendly options, there’s no shortage of exciting bids. Special local date-night packages – many including dinner, a show, and a night away – let you experience the best of Victoria while supporting the arts.
“All of us at Pacific Opera Victoria are passionate about keeping opera vibrant and accessible,” says Margot McLaren Moore, board chair. “This auction is more than just a fundraiser – it’s a chance for the community to come together and make a lasting impact on the future of the arts in Victoria.”
All proceeds will directly support Pacific Opera Victoria’s diverse programs, enabling opera to reach new and unexpected places while nurturing the next generation of artists and enthusiasts. Funds will contribute to mainstage productions like Rigoletto, bringing world-class opera to Victoria, and to initiatives like Pop-Up Opera, which delivers live performances to unconventional venues throughout the city. In addition, programs like Living Opera Classroom Workshops and Coloratura at Seniors’ Residences will continue to inspire young students and offer meaningful musical experiences to those who might not otherwise have access.
