Find roofing to flooring and everything in between at the Victoria Fall Home Show, at Pearkes Rec Centre Oct. 18 to 20.

How can you make that home renovation project easier, and maybe even more affordable?

Darcy Hope has a pretty good idea! Hope has been producing Vancouver Island's Fall Home Show series long enough to know that one of the main reasons people love coming out is for the easy, in-person access to skilled, local professionals. From roofers to flooring installers, you'll find them on-site in one place, and ready to share information and insights about your project.

For homeowners, that means no more weekends spent hustling between stores, trying to pinpoint the products, expertise and best pricing for your project.

And speaking of pricing, another added benefit of attending events like the Victoria Fall Home Show, filling Pearkes Recreation Centre Oct. 18 to 20, is the special home show pricing many exhibitors offer – deals you won't find anywhere else, Hope notes.

As the team marks the 38th anniversary of the Victoria Fall Home Show, Hope is excited about this year's lineup – fall’s ultimate one-stop resource for your home.

"We have one of the most robust groups of exhibitors we've had," he says, pointing to the builders, renovators, landscape designers, painters and more, on site all weekend long to answer your questions and get your project underway.

Expect to see sector experts as well – including those working in windows and doors, countertops, patio covers, heating and cooling, solar, kitchens and bathrooms, decorating, hot tubs and yard maintenance.

Of course, among the busiest booths each show are those sharing the latest energy-efficiency rebates, and with recent updates to various programs, homeowners will likely have lots of questions, including about the new solar energy offerings, Hope says.

And while October's event is weighted a little more heavily to the "home" side of home and garden, fall is actually one of the best times to get started on your garden plans for next season, now that all the summer busyness has subsided, he adds.

Oh, and one more way you could make that home or garden project even more affordable? Enter your name for this year's amazing grand prize: A $1,000 gift card to the building centre of your choice!

As always, show admission and parking are FREE.
