Unwind and connect at Esquimalt’s Social Saturdays this fall!

Esquimalt Parks and Recreation is excited to bring back Social Saturdays, a monthly event where community members can unwind, socialize and have fun in a relaxed setting. These events are a great way to meet your neighbours, make new friends and enjoy a variety of activities. This fall, the lineup includes Trivia Night and a fun-filled Board Game Night, all happening at the Archie Browning Sports Centre.

Social Saturdays at Archie Browning Sports Centre: 

  • Trivia Night – Oct.19: Test your knowledge on Oct. 19 at Trivia Night! Whether you’re a history buff, pop culture enthusiast, or just love a good challenge, Trivia Night is sure to entertain. The Lounge opens at 6:00 p.m., with the trivia competition starting at 7:30 p.m. Compete for bragging rights, meet new people, and enjoy a laid-back evening.   • Board Game Night – Nov. 23: If you’re a fan of classic and modern board games, don’t miss Board Game Night on Nov. 23. Bring your favourite games or try one provided by Esquimalt Parks and Rec. The Lounge opens at 6:00 p.m. Grab a drink, settle in, and enjoy a fun night of games. Pre-registration is not required for this free 19+ community event.

Upcoming events at Esquimalt Parks and Rec: 

Halloween Firehall Spooktacular - Oct. 31:  The Esquimalt Parks and Rec team, along with Esquimalt’s firefighters, are back for their annual Firehall Spooktacular! Family-friendly spooky events will run from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., including spooky sights in the firehall truck bays, kid-friendly activities, and lots of Halloween fun. The Esquimalt Lions will also have a concession open for hot dogs, chips, and more!

Ultra Triathlon Challenge

This October, use your own power to travel the distance of an ultra triathlon, 226.31km. Complete the challenge in one day or take the whole month of October! The time it takes is up to you. Track your progress in a logbook or on the fitness app, Strava. Submit your progress to fitness@esquimalt.ca to win prizes! 

This is your opportunity to run, swim, and bike in the beautiful community of Esquimalt. Are you a fair-weather fitness enthusiast?

Indoor Spin classes and water running can be counted towards your goal! Participants will have discounted access to relevant Esquimalt Recreation Fitness workshops and can choose to receive tips and motivation through email.
