An airshow is returning to the Comox Valley.

The 19 Wing Airshow is in conjunction with the Royal Canadian Air Force’s centennial celebration of service as a distinct military element on April 1, 2024.

The milestone celebration will continue throughout the year, as the airshow is set for May 18 at 19 Wing, which will showcase the Air Force with an invitation to the public to enter the wing, meet those who serve, enjoy static aircraft on display and watch captivating flying displays, including the RCAF Snowbirds.

The centennial celebration is an opportunity to fuel internal and external support in the organization that instils pride in the RCAF while creating an enduring legacy that propels the institution into its next century of service.

The RCAF 2024 team is curating a year-long program that includes international, national and regional events such as the RCAF Run, the documentary Legends of the Sky, official RCAF centennial merchandise and a gaming tournament.

There are also the new RCAF tulips - ‘Wings’, ‘Ad Astra’, ‘Rescue’ and ‘Flyers’ - that will be popping up next spring at wings and bases across the country, including at 19 Wing’s Heritage Air Park.

As the planning continues, and details get finalized, more information will become available.
