Bazan Bay off the Saanich Peninsula was the site of a marine rescue Monday morning involving multiple vessels.
Saltspring Island-based Canadian Coast Guard vessel CCGS Cape Naden, and the Sidney-based Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue 36 responded after a concerned citizen reported a 25-foot motor vessel was pushed onto the rocks while trying to pull a grounded sailboat off the beach at Bazan Bay.

“The motor vessel, with two people aboard, was towed to a nearby dock, and the sailing vessel was towed to Port Sidney marina,” said Kiri Westnedge, communications advisor, western region for the Canadian Coast Guard.
There were no official reports of injuries.
