A cyclist was taken to the hospital following a crash that also involved a driver and impacted traffic in Victoria for hours on Wednesday (May 24).
Around 8 a.m., police asked drivers, cyclists and pedestrians to find alternate routes as Bay Street was closed between Quadra and Cook streets.
Police around 3 p.m. released a statement that said the crash happened near the intersection of Bay and Vancouver streets around 6:30 a.m. VicPD is asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has dash cam footage to call 250-995-7654, extension 1.
That statement said the cyclist had been taken to hospital. Earlier on Wednesday, VicPD told Black Press Media “we don’t have any updates on this incident at this time, and don’t expect that we will have any more info to provide by end of day.”
Bay Street remained closed until shortly after 2:30 p.m.
