Nanaimo RCMP are asking for the public’s help to identify the person alleged to have robbed a gas station yesterday.
According to a police press release, the incident happened at about 3:40 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18, at the Gas N Go on the Trans-Canada Highway at the Morden Road intersection south of Nanaimo.
Attending officers learned the suspect walked into the business brandishing a knife, demanded an employee hand over an undisclosed amount of cash and merchandise, and then fled. No direction of travel was provided.
The suspect is described as a youth or a young man in his late teens to early 20s, about 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall, with a thin build. At the time of the robbery the suspect was wearing a blue T-shirt, dark pants, striped runners, black ball cap and dark-rimmed glasses. His face was partially concealed by a white cloth.
Anyone who has information about the robbery or saw anything suspicious before or after the incident is asked to contact police. Also, any motorists who were in the area at that time are asked to review their dash cam video. Anyone with information or dash cam video is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP detachment non-emergency line at 250-754-2345 and refer to file No. 2025-18526.
