The man accused of firing a pellet gun at a car from a supported housing facility on Johnson Street on June 6 has pleaded guilty to a pair of charges in connection with the incident.

Thomas Wood, 40, received a 30-day sentence in provincial court in Victoria, after pleading guilty to possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, as well as mischief under $5,000 for damage caused to a woman’s car.

The incident came to light when the female driver, who had been driving in the 800-block of Johnson St., called 911 to report that her window had been “blown out.” Subsequent investigation in the area found Wood with the gun in a room inside the housing complex.

Wood, who has a prior criminal record, also received 12 months’ probation as part of the plea.
