An Oak Bay father managed to acquire his kid’s stolen bike four days after it was stolen.
On Monday (April 15) Oak Bay police received a report of a theft of a bike from a 15-year-old Oak Bay High student who locked their bike at the school but realized it was missing when they returned.
Four days later, the student called back and advised that their father was driving down Pandora Avenue and saw a man in possession of the bike. According to police, the father asked for the bike back and it was returned without incident.
“Police encourage the public to contact police prior to taking criminal matters into their own hands,” Oak Bay police said in a news release.
The identity of the bike thief is still unknown.
