West Shore RCMP has launched an investigation into “disturbing, hateful” graffiti that was found on a totem pole located on the grounds of the Royal Roads campus on Boxing Day.
The graffiti was found by university staff on several outdoor signs around campus as well as the totem pole on Royal Roads University campus, quickly removed and reported to the police.
Police spokesperson Cpl. Nancy Saggar says the grafitti included “disturbing, hateful content.”
“At Royal Roads, we stand against hate, denounce racism in all its ugly forms and have zero tolerance for disturbing incidents such as this,” said Veronica Thompson, officer in charge for president Philip Steenkamp for the week of Jan. 3, 2023.
Police are asking any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
