Anyone with thoughts about the city’s plans to rezone the Royal B.C. Museum, to allow for expansion, can express them at a public hearing tomorrow (May 26).
The rezoning would allow the museum to double its floor space to expand its collections and exhibition room.
The proposal includes building a new 16-storey tower to be leased as commercial office space, as well moving the St. Anne’s schoolhouse.
The plan also entails building a 300-stall underground parking lot, less than the standard generally required.
“Rezoning is critical for the long-term care and preservation of the museum’s collection,” said Royal B.C. Museum CEO Pauline Rafferty.
The public hearing takes place in City Hall council chambers, starting at 7:30 p.m.
