A dispute over money early Saturday morning led to a stabbing that resulted in a 42-year-old requiring emergency surgery.
Saanich police were notified of the incident around 12:30 a.m. after the victim took a taxi to Victoria General Hospital.
He got into a dispute in the 200-block of Regina Avenue with a man he knew and a scuffle ensued.
The victim did not know he'd been stabbed in the neck, thinking he had only been punched, and he made his way to a friend's house in the 300-block of Davida Ave. He caught a taxi to the hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.
Police arrested a 45-year-old suspect outside a residence in the 3200-block of Harriet Rd.
Charges of assault with a weapon and breach of probation are being considered.
