Saanich police have made an arrest in connection with a Friday night armed robbery at a 7-Eleven.
In a tweet Saturday afternoon, the Saanich Police Department said officers located a red Hyundai Kona late Friday night and arrested the driver.
Earlier on Friday, police asked the public for assistance in the investigation, publishing a description of the vehicle, which had been reported stolen from the Nanaimo area, and the robbery suspect.
The suspect entered the gas station and convenience store at the corner of Burnside Road West and Harriet Road around 3 p.m., showed a knife to the cashier and demanded money, police said previously.
After being given cash, the suspect left in the vehicle, which had been seen driving westbound on Burnside Road West.
The robbery investigation remains ongoing.
