The District of Saanich is putting the green back into St. Patrick’s Day with a public hearing for the rescinded Environmental Development Permit Area.
The special council meeting is in the Spectrum Community School gym on Saturday starting at 10 a.m. The purpose of the meeting is to allow the public to make verbal or written representation to council regarding the amendment to “remove all provisions related to the EDPA from the Official Community Plan,” according to a release from the District of Saanich.
The proposed removal will affect all lands throughout the District of Saanich that are subject to EDPA. Saanich council voted to rescind the Environmental Development Permit Area 5-4 on Nov. 6, effectively reversing the 2012 bylaw.
Enquiries and comments regarding the proposed bylaw may be submitted by mail or by email and must be received no later than 4 p.m. on Friday to council@saanich.ca.
Copies of the proposed bylaw are available for review from the Legislative Services Division until 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
