It will be all mixers, shakers, strainers and catchers tonight– and a guarantee of top-quality cocktails– at the Complete Bartender Competition.
Eight bartenders will compete in the event at Little Jumbo, at 506 Fort St., to gain the title of the Complete Bartender– one who can be a social mixer with speed, flare and bravado.

There will be three challenges and two redemption rounds for competitors to test the “core disciplines” of a professional bartender: speed, efficiency, salesmanship, accuracy, dexterity, knowledge, palate, creativity and food pairing.

The first challenge will focus on speed, the second on the presentation of a flight, and a third will focus on food pairing based on a select set of available ingredients. There will also be two redemption rounds for competitors who have been knocked out, including a free pour challenge and a shaker challenge.
