West Shore RCMP have ruled out the possibility of foul play being involved in the death of Kathleen Suzanne Alford, 44, whose body was found on Pheasant Lane in View Royal on Sunday, Dec. 15.
Investigators with the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit and the RCMP have been working on the case and base their findings on "an extensive analysis of the investigational findings, including the results of a forensic autopsy."
With no criminal involvement suspected, the RCMP will now be turning over the case to the B.C. Coroners Service.

Police continue to investigate the death of View Royal resident Kathleen Suzanne Alford, 44. As of News Gazette deadline the area near where she was found Saturday (Dec. 14) evening in the 1300 block of Pheasant Lane, remained behind police tape.
“While there are suspicious aspects to this death which remain under close examination, police have not yet deemed it a homicide,” said Cpl. Darren Lagan, media relations for Island District RCMP.
Investigators from the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit, West Shore RCMP Major Crime Section, RCMP Forensic Identification Section, and the B.C. Coroner Services are involved in the ongoing investigation.

A forensic autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow (Dec. 17).
