Victoria police have arrested two people in relation to hidden weapons at Quadra Heights Park.

The Victoria Police Department said officers responded to the report at the park this morning (April 26) around 9 a.m., after a bystander said two people came running into the park, dug around under the carousel and loaded a bag with what looked like a weapon before leaving on foot.

VicPD told Black Press Media the weapon officers recovered from the individuals was a handheld crossbow, which is a prohibited weapon.

Anyone with information can contact VicPD at 250-995-7654, ext. 1, or report anonymously to Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
