Operations are operating normally again at Victoria International Airport after a security breach earlier this morning.
Director of Security and Airport Operations at YYJ, Ian West said the incident occurred between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. after Delta Airlines cancelled a flight and was trying to re-accommodate passengers.

West said the airline made a mistake and reunited those passengers with their checked baggage in the hold room. Passengers are not permitted to have access until the bags have reached their final destination once screened.
As a result, the airport had to re-screen passengers and baggage.
West added everything was back to normal within a couple of hours after minor delays.
We appreciate the patience and cooperation from all passengers as we rescreen everyone after a security breach this morning.

If by chance you are also travelling with WestJet, you may experience some delays due to what the company is calling a “significant” IT outage.
