Victoria launches youth bike and skateboard lending program

Free scooters, helmets and pads will also be available at Topaz Park

The City of Victoria has started a new program where youth can use skateboards, bikes, scooters, helmets and pads for free.

The Free Wheelin’ Youth Lending program is being offered this summer at the skate and bike parks at Topaz Park starting Monday (June 26).

The pads and helmets are available in a variety of sizes.

Staff will be at the site to administer the program from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday.

The equipment must stay at Topaz Park and be returned by 6 p.m.

Those wanting to take part in the program must be under the age of 18 and will need parent or guardian consent.

The consent form can be completed at victoria.ca.
