A small group led by Jasmine Parr on her motorized wheelchair were on hand for the 10 AM re-opening of the Ogden Point breakwater to the public following the installation of safety rails.
The breakwater, built in 1916, closed in early February for the installation after the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority decided the protective railings were needed because of liability issues. The decision caused much public discussion with some arguing that the railings were not needed or too expensive while others supported the increased safety offered.
