Strong winds that may cause damage are expected to hit Victoria Sunday morning, according to Environment Canada.

A Pacific low pressure system will cross Vancouver Island early Sunday morning. With the passage of the system, southwest winds up to 70 km/hr with gusts up to 90 km/hr will develop over the Greater Victoria region.

The winds will ease Sunday afternoon as the system moves inland.

Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.
