Strong winds wreaked havoc with BC Ferries sailings Monday.
All morning sailings were cancelled early in the day from both the Swartz Bay and Tsawwassen terminals. The 1, 3 and 5 p.m. sailings were also cancelled around noon.
With the cancellations, later sailings are filling up quickly. The 7 p.m. from Tsawwassen is full with 24 per cent availability on the 9 p.m. sailing, as of 12:30 p.m. On the Swartz Bay side, the 7 and 9 p.m. sailings are full but an 11 p.m. trip has been added.
Customers with bookings will be fully refunded and travel will revert to a standby basis.
In a weather warning, Environment Canada said wind is expected to gust up to 90 km/h Monday but should subside by late afternoon.
