October 7, 1954 - January 31, 2025

In loving memory ~

After a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer, Mike passed away peacefully at home on January 31, 2025. He was surrounded by loved ones during his final weeks, days, and moments.

Mike was born on October 7th, 1954, in Vancouver, British Columbia. He graduated from Mount Douglas Senior Secondary in Victoria, BC, in 1972, travelled throughout Europe after his graduation, and then went on to study in the Faculty of Education at the University of Victoria.

Mike began his career as an educator in Quesnel, in 1979. He worked as a classroom teacher and school administrator at various schools in the Quesnel School District, finishing his career as the principal of Correlieu Secondary School. He retired in 2014 and continued to live and play in the Quesnel area until his wife, Gail, also retired.

Following retirement, Mike and Gail moved back to Vancouver Island to be closer to family. Together they enjoyed the many outdoor activities that life on Vancouver Island offers: ocean kayaking, hiking, biking, and skiing. Spending time with their adult children Lauren and Jared, and their families, was one of Mike's favourite pastimes. He delighted in the memories he made with his four grandsons who he affectionately called his "joys".

Mike has left a legacy of serving his community, living life big, and loving his family and friends beyond measure. He will be remembered for his positive, caring, and supportive attitude, his incredible energy, his ability to work through any problem, and his love of life and learning.

Mike was passionate about his chosen career and was always guided by a desire to do what was in the best interest of students. For those wishing to support a cause close to Mike's heart, a scholarship fund has been initiated. Those wishing to donate will find more information at https://www.zeffy.com/fundraising/mike-adams-memorial-fund-2

Mike will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
