In Loving Memory ~

"Saying Farewell to a good man". Paul was born to parents Dick and Dorrie in Victoria BC.

He is survived by his wife Carol, daughter Andrea (Jeremy), Grandchildren Piper, Ayla, Ever, his older brother Peter (Marjorie) and 3 nieces Seantel, Jennifer, and Bethany in Fredericton NB, his 2 step daughters Laurie and Tracy, and their Mother, Marilyn, of Spruce Grove AB.

Paul was an honest, kind, thoughtful gentleman with a witty sense of humour. His radiant smile lit up any room and he loved spending time with friends. It didn't matter who it was he had a way of making everyone feel special.

In his early years, Paul was an avid basketball and baseball player. After attending St. Louis College and graduating from Oak Bay High Paul ventured out to explore his new world in the hospitality industry. He Managed the Red Lion in Victoria, then moved on to spend a few years in Vancouver, quickly realizing that the hospitality industry was his passion.

Shortly thereafter Paul became the General Manager of the Arlington Pub in Nanoose Bay where he made some lasting friendships, including his best friend, Kevin. Paul was known as "Willie the duck" inviting friends to stay after hours despite Kevin trying to close the bar. That didn't matter to him he just wanted to be surrounded by his friends.

Paul married the love of his life, Carol, 13 years ago in Bellingham WA at the Fireside Martini Bar, owned by their good friends JD and Becky. JD was blown away by those "Canadian Drinkers!" After a few years they moved to their current home in Yakima. With 13 as his lucky number, there is no doubt that Paul loved Las Vegas. He would often travel there with his daughter, Andrea, and meet up with old friends.

Paul passed away peacefully in the Nanaimo Hospital Palliative Care Unit with his wife, Carol, and friend, Kevin, by his side.

He will never be forgotten.

We are eternally grateful for the incredible display of love and support for Paul from his friends throughout his illness.

Especially Kevin, for being that rock he needed A Celebration of Paul's Life is scheduled for Saturday, December 14, 2024 from 1:00pm - 4:30pm at the Legion in Qualicum Beach.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the BC Cancer Foundation.
