It seems that some councillors have mistaken North Saanich for the Canadian Senate. Councillors Browne, Mearns and McBride find it is acceptable to walk off the job.
In most employment situations other than the Senate, that would be grounds for dismissal. However they feel not only can they walk off the job, but that the recently held public hearing process involves only hearing and not actually listening to the concerns repeatedly raised about their drive to impose high density, market priced housing on the District.
Their plans do nothing to ease our affordable housing shortfall.
If they cannot be removed from office for dereliction of duty then they at least should do the right thing and resign since they do not have the public interest at heart.
